The Raspberry Pi AI Kit utilizes the Hailo 8L AI accelerator, which provides up to 13 TOPS (Trillions of Operations Per Second) of inference performance and is HAT+ compliant. The kit comes pre-assembled on a Raspberry Pi M.2 HAT+ so it is ready to use with the Raspberry Pi 5. It is fully integrated into the Raspberry Pi's camera software stack for seamless use.

The Hailo device is fully integrated into the Raspberry Pi OS environment and the Hailo software packages (Hailo device drivers, HailoRT and HailoTappas) can be easily installed via the apt package manager. In addition, it is fully integrated with the camera software (libcamera, rpicam-apps, picamera2).
