All 3RT2 contactors and 3RH2 contactors can be retrofitted with RC elements or varistors to damp opening surges in the coil. Diodes or diode packages (consisting of suppression diodes and Zener diodes for short interruption times) can be used.
The overvoltage protection diodes are snapped onto the front of the S00 size contactors. Space is provided for them next to a snap-on auxiliary switch.

Varistors, RC elements or diode assemblies can be plugged onto the front side of contactors of sizes S0 to S3. Exceptions: For size S3, the RC element is plugged into the recesses on the left of the terminal block at the front. ...
