New FI/LS switches save 50 percent space in the electrical distribution board
For the first time, the new 5SV1 RCD/LCD switches from Siemens combine residual current and overload protection in a single distribution unit (PD). The compact devices protect people from dangerous electric shocks and at the same time prevent overcurrent damage to lines and the failure of electrical systems and loads in buildings, infrastructure and industry. In the event of a fault, they reliably and safely disconnect the respective circuit from the mains. Compared to conventional devices, the 5SV1 RCCBs require only half the space. This means that more protective devices can be installed in a distribution board and existing installations can be expanded to include new protective functions easily and in a space-saving manner. The protective devices can additionally be connected with a 5SM6 fire protection switch block - and thus offer personal, line and preventive fire protection in just two PDs. ...
