Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Located in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine du Clos Frantin is the most prestigious estate of Maison Albert Bichot and produces an exceptional range of premium site wines from Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites in the Côte de Nuits. Over the last decade, Alberic Bichot who now leads the Maison with the help of Alain Serveau, head of winemaking, has made significant improvements to Clos Frantin, focusing on sustainability in the vineyards and the modernization of the cellar. The vineyards have been certified organic since 2012, and since the 2018 harvest, the wines have been labeled as organic. The Pinot Noir grapes are selected and harvested by hand in the south and west of the municipality of Nuits-Saint-Georges, from vines with an average age of 35-40 years, planted on plots located on hills or deep clay soil. The finished wine is aged in oak barrels (of which only 20-30% are new) for a period of 14 to 16 months. This Nuits-Saint-Georges has an elegant aromatic profile with notes of undergrowth and mushrooms, typical of Pinot Noir, followed by aromas of small red fruits and nuances of tobacco and cocoa. On the palate, it is a robust but velvety wine with a long and very aromatic finish. It goes perfectly with game birds and aged cheeses. Also ideal with duck in mushroom sauce. ...
