• Pull the handles to get the blanket out of the bag.
• Hold the fire blanket by the handles in front of your body as protection against the flames.
• Cover the source of the fire completely and airtight with the blanket.

With a fire blanket, you can extinguish a developing fire at an early stage before major damage can occur.
We use things and appliances every day that can cause fires without even realizing it.
One small mistake on the gas hob and a fire has already started.
Before the flames can spread, you can intervene with a fire blanket and prevent the worst from happening.
The Alecto SB11 fire blanket is designed for such cases. Only in the event of an oil or grease fire should you leave the fire blanket in place and use a special fire extinguisher for grease fires.
In such a case, do not try to extinguish the fire with water. And if the source of the fire is larger than a soccer, you should inform the fire department and get yourself to safety.
A fire blanket should be at least 100x100 cm in size and made of fiberglass.
Try to keep the fire blanket clearly visible. In the event of a fire, proceed as follows:

• Approach the source of the fire carefully and, above all, calmly.
• Hold the blanket so that it is between you and the source of the fire.
• Make yourself as small as possible behind the blanket.
• Place the blanket on the source of the fire and try to deprive the fire of oxygen.
• Try to switch off the source of the fire (if an electrical appliance was involved)
