The Intel 1851 CPU Contact Frame V1 is the version of the popular Intel motherboard mounting aid adapted to Intel's LGA1851 socket. Using the Intel 1851 CPU Contact Frame V1 prevents the concave curvature of the CPU's integrated heat spreader (IHS) caused by the standard Integrated Loading Mechanism (ILM). This affords CPU coolers better contact with the IHS, which improves cooling performance.
