The CPU 1515F-2 PN is the CPU with medium program and data memory for standard and fail-safe applications that contain central I/O as well as distributed automation structures. It can be used as PROFINET IO controller or as distributed intelligence (PROFINET I-Device). The integrated PROFINET IO IRT interface is designed as a 2-port switch so that a line topology can be established in the system. The additional integrated PROFINET interface with separate IP address can be used e.g. for network isolation. Furthermore the CPU offers extensive control functionalities as well as the possibility to connect drives via standardized PLCopen blocks.
